PEARS IN RED WINE WITH ICE CREAM

A delicate dessert with an intense and autumnal flavour, perfect for warming up at the end of a meal.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 Pears
  • Red wine 600ml
  • Sugar 400 gr
  • Water 400 ml
  • Gelato Fior di panna, Egg Cream, Vanilla or Mascarpone of your choice


PREPARATION

  1. Pour wine, water and sugar into a saucepan and bring to the boil slowly
  2. Add the pears in slices (previously peeled if you prefer)
  3. Reduce the heat to low and cook for 10-15 minutes
  4. Take out the pears and set them aside while you reduce the liquid until it has a syrupy consistency
  5. Immerse the pears back in the saucepan and warm them before placing them on a plate and drizzling them with the warm syrup
  6. Take the chosen flavor of our gelato and place it on the syrup next to the pears
